I havent been here in quite a while. Just thought id post a quick update since my surgery back in Sept. Lost about 50 lbs since the surgery. Its been very slow going and I became frustrated back in Jan. My old eating habits crept back to haunt me but somehow the band kept me from gaining anything more than a few pounds of water weight. Im at my sweet spot for now and my DR had a long discussion with me. I told him I just couldnt toss out a lifetime of bad eating habits overnight. He understood me completely and got me motivated enough to get back to the basics. The weight is now coming off slowly, but coming off nonetheless. All totalled, since I started this process I have gone from 450 lbs to 365. But to keep my sanity I have made it clear to myself that its going to be a slow process, at least for me.   Hope everyones doing well.

Well Jeff ol' buddy your post reads to me like you need a good old locker room azz kickin. You've talked yourself into thinking that the surgery was all you needed to do. Once that was done you could continue on with business as usual and your weight problems would go away. Isn't working is it? WLS is only the first step. The rest is up to you. You need to decide if you want to really change your life. Assuming the decision is "yes" then you've got to do the rest. Start over. Force yourself to eat the right foods in reasonable amounts and get some exercise. You're right, no one can stop a lifetime of poor choices on a dime. But all of us can and must START trying. Its OK to take baby steps as long as they are in the right direction. Come on Jeff. Only you can do this for you. Get started with the exercise. The mental boost you will get from that will make all the rest possible. And you'll be the better man for it. Now get started or I'll rally the troops and you'll get an e-azz kickin the likes of which are difficult to describe. Trust me, you don't want Baja on your six!  Now get out there and make your own good luck. Doug

Yep, my Dr did the azz kickin for you. Im on track now and I should be excercising soon. At my current weight, not having any cartlidge in my knees sure keeps most excercises at bay. I have a semi-elliptical stepper that I will be easing into use real soon.  Thanks for the support...Jeff
