WHATS UP GUYS!!!!!

I believe that one of the women from the Main Forum posted here briefly the other day that you need our support. A lot of the things that you have been diagnosed with will probably be cleared up by the WLS surgery. Make sure your surgeon lists them as co-morbidites when he submits your case for approval by your ins company. Everyone who has had to wait gets a little anxious just waiting. It's good that you are addressing your problems now. Look over the posts from other men, and you'll probably find others who are at or near your age. You can take the first step by sending them a message and hope they get back to you. You should also follow the progress of men who have either recently had WLS or who will be having it shortly before you. They will be the men with the freshest memories of what the experience is like shortly after surgery.
Chris,
You will see how time flies when you are awaiting surgery! Then afterwards, almost immediately after the WLS surgery, you will see how most of your medical conditions just seem to vanish! Finally, during the days, weeks after surgery, you start to vanish without the temptations that got most of us on this board to be "gravitationally challenged" (I just love this politically correct expression to describe obesity!). Enjoy the rush!
Cheers,
Carlos

Hi Chris - Good luck in your WLS journey. I wish I had done it earlier myself. Just wanted to offer a bit of advice. If you have severe acid reflux, it might be helped by WLS but in the mean time while you are doing your 6 month diet, ask your Dr about going on Prevacid (or Nexium) to help with the reflux. I had it after surgery and since the day I went on Prevacid I have had not a single episode of reflux or heartburn. Awesome stuff, way better than the liks of Tagament or Pepsid or the old fashioned Tumms. Though I hear Tums are good for calcium after WLS!
