Blew that days diet.

Well I blew my liquid diet yesterday. I got caught up not having any thing to eat but my breakfast at 7am and a EAS protein drink for lunch, about 7pm we went to eat. I eat 6 grilled chicken strips and some wedge fries. I feel bad. I can not believe that I was doing so good and then blew it. I lost 14 pounds in the last two weeks. I knew that going on this trip for my company was going to be hard. I made up some this morning by having a smaller breakfast. I will walk some extra today if given the chance,

 

Sorry, just need to confess. I can not lie to myself. I did wrong. I know it was only one day out of 14 but I don’t want to fail of have any problems with surgery.

Don't guilt yourself out.  Different docs have different rules.  Yes, I've read of many docs *****quire a liquid diet prior to the surgery.  My surgeon wasn't one of them.  I was told to have one final normal meal the day before the surgery and then nothing by mouth from midnight until the surgery.  However, I was in such bad shape that I had my Final Meal on Sun night, went to the Hosp on Mon and didn't have the surgery until Wed.

Just 7 more days now… You can do this. One slip up won’t screw you. Just get it back in gear and move on. Keep shrinking that liver and get in some walking and breathing exercises before next week. Best Wishes- Dx

Hey Hanshc, you have kicked yourself pretty good.  But what is done is done.  Now get yourself back on track and do the best you can.  I have had my share of failures also.  So don't keep putting yourself down.  Just start this day new and do the best you can.  You can do this.  I will be praying for you.

I don't see where you blew it so bad. You have already lost 14 lbs. Just get back on track and keep going. More weight you lose the easier and safer your surgery will be. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Bud, I was really beating myself up. I am on track and next Tuesday I will have surgery.

So you stumbled, big deal. Just use it to strengthen your resolve. Keep your eye on the prize you're over half way there. If you want to change your life you must change your life. This is how its done. You're leaving the old ways behind you and its not easy at first but man its worth it. When you get hungry, go do something else. Try to think like those thin people who forget to eat because they stay busy doing other things. Good luck. Doug
