What do we think about lettuce at 2 months post-op? Anybody have any trouble with lettuce? Like not a whole salad but like lettuce in a chicken wrap like from Wendy's. Thanks.

Don't remember how early out I had lettuce, but remember it's some fiber, but mostly water.  Lettuce amounts can be more than a normal serving due to it's ability to "condense" due to high water amount.  Never had a wrap, but have had salads themselves 3-4 times a week normally. DAVE

My doc told me to stay away from lettuce until 2 month post-op. Since then I have a salad almost daily. This probably won't be an issue with the Wendy's wrap, but the thing to be cautious of with a salad is the dressing. Go for something light in fat and in carbs. Like a lite balsamic vinaigrette. Joe

I don't mean to bust your bubble about Wendy's chicken wraps, but beware of the wrap itself.  The total wrap itself has 29 carbs!  The tortilla by its self has 20 carbs.  be careful of the tortillas that are used in wraps.  They can be deceiving!   I enjoy eating the "innards" of a beef & bean burrito.  It's good stuff!

I was eating lettuce at 2 mos. post-op.   Had some tonight, in fact. Try a little and see. /Steve

Thanks gang. I just saw the wraps at Wendy's and thought that would be something I could grab if I was in a hurry one day.

I got caught out late one night after one of my daughter's basketball games at about 2 months out and all that was open was a Sonic. I had one of there grilled chicken wraps and it was damned good. Plenty of lettuce in those. I say, go for it.

Speaking of the lettuce and all conjured up people discussing carbs.  Are you all that hung up on carbs now?  Not be a smartass here.  Just asking a legitimate question.  My doctor said not to focus on the carb issue so much, but concentrate on getting fluids and protein in and the rest would take care of itself.  Now he did not say to go gorge myself on carbs, but the carbs in a Wendy's wrap is not a deal breaker by any means.  You just can't have 5 in one day.  It is all about moderation and so far by following that prinicpal I have lost 115 pounds since having surgery 2/28/08.  I don't deny myself much of nothing if my body can handle it - I will say that I exercise my arse off everyday for about 2 hours. Sorry Lance, didn't mean to highjack the topic, but people were talking about the carbs in your Wendy's wrap and I just had to ask. Taz
