Stop Scale Obsession - easier said than done

I'm on the scale everyday also, at least.  I'm really new to, so it's kind of "fun" at this point to get on and see the numbers continue to move down (even at a slower pace as of late).  Before considering/having my RNY, I totally ignorned the scale...and gained about 100 pounds in the process.

Even though I record it once a week, I jumped on the scales every morning for my first 4 years! I didn’t let it control my mood at all, Just used the info to “track” how I was doing. Like Paul, I used 3 to 5 days as my indicator. If I ran “high” for 3 to 5 days in a row, I’d add a touch more walking or cut out a little fat from my daily intake. I find it much easier to make super-small adjustments, rather than realize a bunch of ‘re-gain’ and then deal with it as a diet. Minor adjustments to compensate for minor fluctuations. Nearly a year ago, I dropped back to weighing maybe every other day And sometimes I forget for 3 in a row! I just don’t let the results “freak me out.” I can fluctuate 5 lbs in one day. Best Wishes- Dx

Personally I see nothing wrong with the whole scale thing. I'm 15 mos. out and weigh myself twice daily. when I get up in the morning and just before bed. Sometimes more. I found that my weight can fluctuate 4lbs overnite. I think its pretty interesting how that works. For me its not about losing weight anymore, I want to maintain and even put on some more muscle weight.
