Did your WLS help any with "E.D."?

Hey Bard, Welcome to the Men’s Board. Glad you clicked the link. Many claim extreme improvement in that area. (for several reasons) *Loss of fat tissue from around the base of the shaft makes for more "useable" inches. Mileage may vary, but the typical ratio seems to be about 1/2" of additional length for every 40lbs lost. *Increases (and or fluctuations) in Testosterone levels during the "rapid weight-loss-stage" seem to increase Sex drives which lead to more activity in general. *Getting off of a number of BP and Blood Sugar Meds Tends to help E.D. for most everyone. Often the meds are responsible for a number of E.D. cases. *Overall improvements in health and more exercise tend to increase stamina and function. *Psychologically, there’s nothing like confidence for "tempering steel." The boost to confidence and ego from losing weight Gives many the boost needed to "Keep it Up!" Most physicians suggest making a few healthy lifestyle changes to solve the problem. -Quitting smoking, -Losing excess weight, -and increasing physical activity to regain sexual function. Along with-
-Cutting back on any drugs with side effects or swapping them For ones with less side effect. (example, drugs for high blood pressure of a different class can help) and lastly- -Psychotherapy and/or behavior modifications in selected patients. All of these are direct results of the Post-Op life. So, I have to say, the happy "Side-effect" of WLS Is Extreme improvements in Sexual Function. Most everyone has had improvements in this area from dropping their weight. (Sorry to go ‘round the cup’ to get to the handle, But I’m ‘wordy that way.’) Best Wishes- Dx
