Alcohol???!! ;-)
Hey Guys,
Just thought I'd post an interesting "article" (these are just people's stories as apposed to any clinical studay) related to alcohol consuption post-WLS.
I think it's a very important subject, and I'm very glad everyone is so open and honest in talking about it.

you guys are such weenies! hey lance, try opiates for relaxation! i'm not going holy roller either. just pointing out that we've seen a lot of guys here ask this question only for SOME to have problems down the road with it. even my doc's office admits drinking has become a problem with some of his women patients. so something is up. they all said it before, cross addiction. we have it bad. no way i can do it but that's just me. almost everyone i know drinks and they don't have problems.
so enjoy the booze whatever you want but jus****ch that little demon sitting on your shoulder. that's all, just a bunch of brothers watching your back.
ps, i thought there was something about the carbonation we should stay away from. stretching the pouch and all. also, i heard a glass of red wine once a day is great for your heart and stress release. go figure! cheers.......carbonblob

Well I have the opiates so I'm good in that department carbon haha. I know carbonation is bad for us and whatnot I haven't wanted anything besides water anyway b/c it's light and goes down easily. I guess there's other ways to relieve stress besides drinking and taking meds and I don't want that to be the only way I have relief either of course. Thanks to everyone who posted, though. Very insightful. And yeah, it can become a problem only if you let it!!! After all, you have to actually be the one who goes and spends money on the liquor/drugs, etc so if you just don't do that then it shouldn't become an issue (I kicked the nicotine habit so I'm aware of how strong it can be).

My favorite stress relieving activity also happens to promote a healthy prostate. If you know what I mean and I think you do.

The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
