Hey Baja,

Are those trigger fish that you caught in one photo?  I didn't think they would hit at bait on a hook, or you would think they could bite right through the hook.  I thought they like to eat clams and corals.  Are they good eating.

Jim

They are FUCKIIN' good to chow on    You gotta get 'em with a Kroc or jointed Rebel - something with a treble hook to foul hook 'em when they strike.  Or soak squid on a small trout treble.  You need to pay attention if you are soaking bait, however... left on the hook they will chew their way free in a few minutes time. You gotta watch them when you bring them on board the 'yak..... they will take a quarter-sized bite out of your nutsack iffn' you are not careful If you try to skin them you will just ruin your knife.  You just gut them and clamp them in the fish basket over ye olde fire pit.  Once they are done, the skin lifts right up with a fork.  Lime, cabbage, salsa, warm tortillas, & liberal doses of tequila complete the package.  White, flaky meat with very few bones - and pound for pound, one of the best fighting fish around. That and the fact that no boat is needed makes the trigger one of my favorite catches

Hell yes its a FART! (all caps on this kind of FART, lower case on the others)  Even if you had not hooked any thing just getting a line wet a week post op is great!

Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!

That is awesome.  Fishing is therapeutic as hell.  Nothing quite beats just easing back and wetting a line.  Take care and keep on moving.  Taz

I went but didnt stay long. It was windy and cool. Supposed to get in the 30's here tonight. Anyway I only stayed about an hour and was really beat by the time I climbed back up the stairs but it was worth it because it did a lot of good for my mental attitude. I got hungry this evening. First time since surgery that I have been hungry. I will be glad to move to the full liquids/mush diet. Being hungry this evening makes me think I will be starved tomorrow. I got a feeling it is going to seem forever until I get to go to the next stage diet but I am not about to cheat. I do not want to endure another surgery because of stupidity.

Hey baja:

Thats a lot of pics. I added some to my profile today. Not sure how to post them here.

I tried several times to add headers and captions but no luck, I add the header and click save then add the caption and again click save but it never saves.

Never catch channels while noodling; only Flathead. Them big Flathead are good chow. I gotta dig around in my files and find some pics of some I have caught. Best part about noodling is if you get ahold of something that scares you really bad, the stream cleans your shorts out so no one knows.
