Informative & Helpful "Position Statements" From the A.S.B.S.

FYI , the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (formerly A.S.B.S.), the largest professional organization in the world for WLS, has issued several statements over the past year or two stating the organization's official position re:  various WLS topics.  These topics include the use of WLS as a cure for diabetes, the use of Greenfield Filters and such to prevent blood clots before and during surgery, etc.    A list of the statements, with a link from their website is below (in PDF format, I think): http://www.asbs.org/Newsite07/resources/asmbs_items.htm  This info. may be useful also for insurance appeals ..

Hey Paul, Thanks for the link - lots of great info.  And, they have a 31 page PDF document on psychological assessments for pre-surgical candidates.   That's my big project for next week is to research this exact topic and develop an assessment tool, so THANK YOU so much for the lead.    I SUCK at finding stuff on the web, and your link took me right to the page with the assessment information on it.  Thanks again,
