My generic invite on the Main Forum...

Below you will see what I post on the Main Forum every couple of days.  A few months ago I tried using the phrase like "a great group of guys without a lot of fluff".  I nearly got eviscerated.  If I used a phrase like "no women allowed", obnoxious women would flock to this site and become very disruptive (like what we have faced in the past few days).  I am open to change this standard post, but I think it works fine.  Impolite women (I am saying it nicely) will post anyways.  Would like to get some thoughts??  Brian     Hey Guys (men)...Just a reminder we have a Men's Forum here at OH.  It is a great group of guys and very supportive.  Check us out and bookmark it if you like what you see.  Brian                   http://obesityhelp.com/forums/men/

Brian,  I think it sound great as is. And thanks for posting it. I was over 90% ready to have my wls when I found the Men's Forum. After reading what other men had to say about their experiences, I KNEW I was going to have the surgery!! Men and women ARE different! The way we act and react to things, the way we perceive a situation, the way we handle pressure and stress, etc.  It's great to have other men to ask questions, to discuss issues with, and get their insight, opinions and thoughts on any particular problem or situation, and to have men who can share their own personal experience on this journey. Thanks for posting as you do and keep up the good work!!

Brian, when I see a guy post on the Main Board who I don’t recall visiting Our Board, Here’s what I post- (first, I respond to their post, then {and only then] I add the following)- ---------------------------------------------------------------- I also wanted to drop by an Invitation. It’s great to see other men out here. We make up such a small percentage (12%) Of the people having Weight Loss Surgery, But tend to reach our goal weights quicker and with less Or at least Different hassles than the Gals Due to Male physiology. Drop by the Men’s Message Board And check out what other men like you are going through. It’s a diverse make up of Dads, Singles, Older, younger, etc… Pre-Ops, Post-Ops new and some Old (at Goal) Post-Ops. Lap-Banders, RNY’ers DS, etc… Great bunch of guys with the mutual understanding That WLS for Men can be a totally different Journey. Stop by to add your questions, advice, opinions, and info at- http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/men/

It’s Great to know we’re not so alone, And that there are others pulling for you. Hope to see you ‘Round the Boards! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Best Wishes- Dx

Perhaps you could placate the offensive miscreants with their choice of a treat from Bajaddict's Tuna Town Variety Pack -  fresh from my "kitchen" .  Be sure to have available knife and fork, chopsticks, or a straw depending on their selection: Photobucket

I think it sounds great Brian. I also want to say that i was stuck on the main board for the first few weeks after I joined OH, until i got a personal invite from Dx to come to the men's board (thanks again Dx).

Since then, I just open up OH - go to bookmarks, and come here.... And, this way I can even watch American Idol (Mountain Time) and not have some WENCH in the Eastern Time Zone tell me who gets voted off before it's even started here (ok, that's just ONE reason i stick around here - hee hee)....

Anyway - keep the posts going over there you guys - it's great to see so many new men on the men's board. It sure helped me in the weeks before and after my surgery.

well, never met a winner that didn't bet. sometimes we get curly suzie and other times charming. gotta take the good with the bad when you post on the main board. i just wanted to say thanks to you and Dx and the others who brave the water (i wasn't aware tuna bit) just to guide our brothers here. i have to say once more, i've been simply astonished by the drama lately.

one observation though, i can't believe how many sane women are actually out there on this site. if you read the RR site i would say the majority, by a mile, want to leave us be. even better, they understand why we're so pissed when they post here. nothing personal, just want our space stuff. so i say if any are idiotic enough to post in here due to your invite, we got your back. it would seem after all the traffic on this subject the past few days i don't expect anyone to ever post on here again except us! yeah, right......carbonblob

> i can't believe how many sane women are actually out there on this site. Sane women far, far, far outnumber the crazies, but the crazies outshout them!  Another unfortunate fact of electronic life.  They're the only reason I post to the Main and RNY forums. /Steve
