Guilty of drama!

hey guys,

seemed like my monitoring post stirred the pot. rest assured, after reading what they posted i'm with baja, i'm not going anywhere and i'm not going to be run off. someone made the astute observation that the monitors can take the time to pull a post and move it over to another board but can't seem to find the resources to keep the idiots on their side or send them emails telling them to back off and leave us alone. i read where the sorest losers over there want to post over here for every single topic! what losers. well, i don't want to beat a dead horse and i'm breaking the cardinal rule by bringing drama into our board. for that, i apologize guys. it was not my intention. i was frustrated but now i see the light! baja is right. i saw where boner and baja went right into the lion's den and confronted the source. wow! i'm impressed. they did that for us guys and i posted this to acknowledge what they did. so thanks for defending the fort. the least i can do is stay put. i realize now what i ***** i've been over this! it wasn't even your problem!

ok, so last word on the subject and then i'm leaving it lie. i just wanted some of you to see this email i got. you know, i'm aware that none of you guys really talk to women this way even though the losers really think this. they just don't get it. go away. how more plain can we make it? there were a few defenders over there but too few. i don't want my last words to be about bashing all women. so here's a neat pm i got...........

I'm a (she lists her occupation, i don't want her to get hate mail over this but she's a nurse) and friend of (anon. so no one puts it together). (Also happily married and not looking for meat, so no ulteriors, thought I'd get the disclaimer out of the way.)

This is my favorite forum because 1) as you all know 90% of WLS pts are women, thus the guy point of view is hard to come by. This board is a source of bona-fide education for me to learn things to help my guy patients (as opposed to the "Baja" form of education, which is also bona-fide, just a bit different); 2) I don't do tea parties, tupperware parties, jewelry parties, Mary-Kay parties, etc.; 3) It's fabulous entertainment. I also learn from others' mistakes and respect the board as even an old salty nurse like me may get stung by Baja, "bulldog of the board." (Long live Baja!!) I lurk here because I'm sick of the emoticons and flashing twinkling names and crap. Go get some glitter pens and quit cluttering up the board. But, hey, it's not my board, so I just come here, watch and learn. I hope that doesn't offend you. Oops, guess that was a girly thing to say, sorry about that. If it offends you, tough, though I'm smiling when I say that.

I agree with your position. What a load of crap about them pulling his post. Can the guys not have a place to let it all hang out? I firmly believe that if guys don't have a cave to gather in, they will not gather at all - and we know that this serves as the only support group many men go to. Pts are more successful when they participate in a support group, cyber or otherwise, than when they do not. In the words of Pink Floyd, "Hello - hello - hello - hello - is anybody out there?" It's all about the PATIENTS and all about their SUCCESS. If I were to get sick of the swearing, guess what? I can leave! (However, Baja can wax so eloquent at time that my eyes get fixed and misty, mesmerized by his eloquent prose. Gotta respect a guy who can swear like that.)

Don't let the *****es get you down. You guys just keep hanging in there for the newbies, and if the tuna town *****es don't like it, well, tough. They'll eventually migrate to the Glitter Pen Club anyway. But you guys are a wealth of knowledge, and this place is a gold mine for newbies who somehow or another end up here. The reason I do what I do is because I know that I make a difference in people's lives, and for some of them it may mean life or death, without being flaky or overdramatic. You do too, CB. People respect you and admire you for what you've accomplished and for the courage it has taken for you to make huge changes that have probably saved your life, and you touch people I never could. So just keep doing it. Those losers are just that - losers.

Hey CB - stop apologizing!!! You vented - VENTING is very healthy.... This is a place to vent. We both know what happens to those feelings if we don't get them out - we internalize them, and they manifest in some sort of self-destructive behavior (pass the cheeseburger!)

Thanks for posting her remarks - she sounds awesome, and it's good for the guys on here (me included) to be reiminded of all the level-headed women out there who are genuinely supportive of us men who chose WLS.

yeah baja, thought you get a kick out of it. they do exsist. she can be my nurse anyday! they're probably already bribing some admin to go into my email and find her. we'll probably see her on the national geographic channel being eviserated by hiennas with big bloody teeth and laughing in that demonic way they do. you know, the main board......carbonblob

yeah bama, it was nice of her to take the time to say that. i think it was directed to all of us. if others would just take her lead. none of this would happen if they would just lurk or respect us when they do post here. i gotta tell ya, they pick the fight not us. i guess that's what gets me mad especially when we're banned or deleted or like baja put on probation for saying the obvious. ok, maybe we're a little like kids with a fort but so what? it's all we want. jeez, no respect from some people. ok, done sulking! i think most women over there don't want to post here or start a game going. i wish more of them would tell the flame throwers in their midst to get a life like this poster did.....carbonblob

Hey CB, time to move on and get on with your life.  No need to apologize.....you were frustrated and needed to vent some.  I do want to add that whoever sent you the e-mail was right about you being an inspiration.  You, Boner, BigAl and others have helped me beyond what you will ever know.  I failed at weight loss all my life.  This surgery is my last chance to get it right.  And I know I can only succeed at keeping the weight off with the help of God, my family, my friends, and my friends here in the Locker Room.  It is a struggle each and every day.  And you guys help keep me on track.  Thanks for everything!
