Already losing !!!
Hey guys, I can't believe it. On my surgery day last Monday I weighed in at 331 lbs. Well, today I stepped on the scales for the first time since then and it read 319!! 12 lbs. already gone?! Well, I guess this is what ya'll meant about the RIDE! I can see my ankle bones for the first time in the last 5 years. And I've had no swelling in my ankles since the 3rd day after surgery! I had a little nauseau 2 or 3 times after drinking my protein shakes and after a cup of chicken soup, but no problems really. I'm still a bit sore at the incision points, especially the big one where the scope and stapler passed through, but that gets better each day.
I was surprised that I had NO PAIN from this surgery. A little tenderness in the belly, but no real pain. Not that I'm complaining, just find it somewhat amazing considering what they do to your stomach and innards! And I don't even really want to eat anything, at least not so far.
I want to say a special THANKS to my good buddy Bob L. for posting about my surgery and afterwards. He and his wife came up to see me after my op and he kept me informed about you fellas posts.
Thanks to all of you hard-ankles for the thoughts, prayers, and well wishes. You're a pretty good bunch in my book!!

It only gets better from here. Start forming those good habits yesterday, and by the time your hunger returns you'll be armed with a gun rather than that peashooter you used to have. Great to hear from you.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
Bama, that is awesome on your new lease on life. It is great to hear you are losing weight and your spirits are up. Keep up the good work, stay positive, and get your butt moving as much as possible and even more weight will come off. Take care and let us know man if you have any questions or issues man. I was right where you are now just about 8 weeks ago and now there is 105 pounds less of me to lug around. I walk in the grocery store and look at a 10 pound sack of potatoes and I tell myself that I used to carry around 10.5 of those bags on my back. It really puts things into perspective and makes me realize just how much my life has changed so drastically in those 8 weeks - mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Good luck, Taz
