Weight loss and exercise
This past week, between my wife having a baby and some very big deadlines at work, I have been gone non-stop so I have been eating making the best choice I could with what has been available. Secondly I have not been to the gym once this week. Here is the topper, I lost 5.5 pounds this week, which is a little high for my average. I usually loss 2-4 pounds, but that is eating just like i should and working out 5-6 times a week with at least 45 min of cardio. On my good weeks I probably consume 800-1000 calories a day. So this is kid of fueling my suspicion that I am not eating enough fuel to support my work outs and lose weight with out my body going into a hold tight on to every ounce mode. What do you guys think?
It's nice to exercise daily, as that give you the best results from WLS. But cir****tances do prevent this from time to time. If you exercise for 30 minutes at least 4-5 times per week, then that's the best you can do. I do walking for exercise in southern CA. On rainy or windy days, it's difficult to walk, so I don't walk every day. But then again, if it's a nice day, I may take two walks several days a week, kind of "making up" for the non-exercise days. I never count calories, just try to eat a good balanced diet, with as much protein as possible. I still have a protein shake 3 to 4 times a week. I started out at 345 and am rapidly approaching my 150 wt. loss, with a weight today of 197. Even after 2 years, it's still work to maintain or get those last few pounds you want gone. Support groups are highly recommended, as they give you information from other post ops too. Someone else may have solved a problem you're currently having, and be able to offer you advice to overcome you curreent issue. I do both. I attend 3 support meetings per month, and participate in at least 2 online forums daily. Good luck. DAVE

Stay with your program. You're doing great. Blips in weight loss (big one week, none the next, etc.) during the first year are the norm. Our bodies typically have plenty of fat to provide fuel for exercise unless you're going aerobic or anorobic with your cardio all the time. If you find yourself getting light headed during exercise, rest and eat a piece of fruit. Best of luck. Boner
