THE 50 MILE CHALLENGE REDUX! Can YOU do it?
Hey guys. Been missing posting of late because of work and training. I hired a triathlon coach to get me on a set schedule for Ironman Florida 2009 (or Kona 2009 if I get in the lottery) I have just over 19 months to train and that along with a FULL workload and hectic racing schedule has me reeling! :)
Boner sent me an message a couple weeks ago asking me if I'd like to start up an old trend that CardinalsFan used to do awhile back. Some of you old timers may remember it as the 50 Mile Per Month Challenge. This being the last day of the month what better time to start it off again.
Rules are simple and you can meet your quota as fast or as slow as you want to. Take the entire 31 days if you need to. I'll be sure to post a check in at least once a week so everyone can put their totals up. There are no prizes for the most or least amount of miles although if you do the least amount of miles we do get to mess with you a bit. :) This challenge is to help you reach a very attainable goal once a month. Do it by walking, running, swimming, biking, rowing, cartwheeling, stairclimbing or any other cardiovascular exercise. Combine the mileage from all your exercises to get your total. Hit 50 miles and and feel GREAT about your accomplishment. We'll reset the miles on the first day of every month.
So get your ass on the bike, street, pool, grass or however else you want to do the miles. I challenge YOU to 50 miles. Can you do it? You have 31 days! GO!
Good luck!
Chad
Thanks, Chad for resurrecting CF's "spring has sprung" exercise challenge. CF started the challenge shortly after my WLS and it really got me going with the exercise. I remember hitting the 50 miles walking goal the first month and feeling so good about my accomplishment. 2nd month, I increased my walking goal to 75 miles then switched my goal miles to biking in month 3. So, count me in on the challenge and put me down for 500 cycling miles for the month of May. I hope to knock off 125 of those this Saturday in the Colorado 200KM Horsetooth-Poudre Canyon-Stove Prarie Brevet. Thanks again!!
Chad,
I’ve kept up my “50 miles+”
For most months since CF first started it.
Glad to see it come back to the Board!
Lord, today alone I must have gotten in 10!
Congratulations on your ‘IronMan’ work so far,
And may you continue scorching a Trail of Success!
Best Wishes-
