What Laparoscopic RNY looks like, Very Graphic!
I am getting scheduled for surgery in late may, early June and I needed to know what is exactly done. I found this and thought I would pass it around to others like me who have to know.
I am ready and it helped me with some of the uncertainties I was having.
Hope you find it helpful. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypPnUnAtQb8
Definitely great idea that you decided to watch a surgery being performed for the RNY. It really lets you know what exactly happened to you afterward when you wake up and feel all different inside at first. And then once you are able to start eating foods again it helps to understand how big the new stomach/pouch is from a surgical point of view so you won't accidentally take too big of a bite and regret it for an hour. I love the or-live.com WLS videos. If you go to their website and register (it's free) then search under their Previous Webcasts tab and choose Search by Specialty then go down to the bottom and click on Weight Loss Surgery you should be able to find a lot of RNY's and lapbands and even more varied ones than that (VSG, DS, bilio-pancreatic diversion, etc). I encourage you to watch as many as you can find, as you'll come to realize different surgeons like to use different techniques and it's very interesting to see what one surgeon does opposed to another. Good luck, and here's an early welcome to the LOSER'S BENCH!!
