Just want to introduce myself

Hi Guys!

I have been hanging out on the NY board for the past month and a half or so.  I am currently just over 2 weeks out from my RNY and my wife will be having hers on Friday!  I have not felt better.  I am currently only able to walk and am looking forward to getting into the Gym.  Currently I have no appetite and really only eat because I now I need to.  What a difference for me.  So far I have tolerate whatever I have tried, but I am being very good about following the MD orders about the diet.  My biggest two problems are getting all my fluids in due to the solid and liquid restrictions and I feel so good I don't want to follow the activity restrictions, but I think that will be lifted in about two weeks at my next appointment.

I have been shocked at how good I have felt since surgery!  I have had very little pain and of course my wife says that men are wimps, we'll see how she does.  I have had little bouts of pain, but nothing that makes me want to take anything other than Tylenol since I got home 2 days post op.  I am so glad I found a great Laproscopic RNY Surgeon!

I found this forum last night and now I am hooked.  I think men and women share many experience with WLS, but I also feel there are many things that are just so different when looked at from a Man's point of view.  I know there would be no penis discussions on the NY board! LOL

You all seem like a great group of guys,

Jim

Welcome Jim! Be careful starting up in the gym.  I launched into it too fast and have had to stop completely due to a knee injury and shoulder strains.  I can still walk, walk, walk, but I want back at it! CB

Jim, Glad you found the place. 2 weeks? That’s the hardest part of it. It just gets easier from here on… Hope you and the missus both have an easy ride down the scales And a new-improved life together. Jump on in with any thoughts or questions… This Board is sort of like an “All Request” radio station.. Only as good as the ‘Requests.” A Great Bunch of guys happy to share their experience. Best Wishes- Dx

Congrats on the weight loss so far. I also I'm new to these neck of the woods. I had my surgery 3/14 and the old lady had hers 4/1. It's kinda cool when you and your old lady have the surgery together.
