50-pound milestone (5 1/2 weeks)
Reached 50 pounds off this morning, 5 1/2 weeks post-op.
I continue to be amazed.
Nice payoff, one day after experiencing my first (and I pray last) dumping episode.
I left my breakfast in the sink at home, and in the parking lot of Circuit City.
Apparently, I did not chew that breast of chicken well enough.
Let that be a lesson to me.
Onward!
Hey Guy,
Congrats on the 50 pound plunge in so little time!
Don't worry about your first dump being on chicken. Have talked to may a WLS patient that can't go the poultry. One relating an incident that happened in the local parking lot of a well know nationwide chain! My Dr. even commented on it being one of the tougher foods to get down. It is a sinewy meat. I have managed to eat it without dumping but before I did I cut it across the grain and took my time chewing.
Never, and I mean NEVER, trust a fart!!
Congrats on the half-a-hunnerd. I stick to chicken thighs these days. Dark meat has a little higher fat content and that seems to smooth the ride down in to the pouch a little bit. Do I worry about the tiny extra bit of fat I'm getting from eating thighs rather than breasts? No. I really don't. I've only thrown up a few times but one was on turkey breast and another was on chicken breast.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
