Ok, boys. Here's a question for all of you who are past the pureed food stage. If you had to guess what is your number one food you eat day in and day out, what would it be? In other words, what one food do you eat every day which provides the most CALORIES each and every day? So, doesn't have to be which food you like but which food you eat which delivers the most calories to your body. Could be frickin' ice cream or cake or.......

Mine would have to be my homemade trail mix or gorp as it's called. Consists of dried fruit, nuts and chocolate morsals. It's all natural but when you look at it, it's a lot of sugar. Second would be a big honkin' salad. Carb addict here. I know I should be eating more PROTEIN especially since my hair is starting to fall out again so I need to work on that.

I had a bunch of venison jerky made. I eat about 4 large pieces of that each day plus a bowl of oatmeal. I'm getting low on the jerky and deer season is a long way off. Not sure what I'm gonna do when I run out of jerkey.

I may be a little strange.  There are about 20 things I eat each and every day.  I am afraid I am not getting in all my nutrients during the day.  So I will eat and drink things that I know give me a very ballanced diet.  But the number # 1 item I eat every single day...Wendi's Chili.  I just think there is something magic about that stuff.  Combining the beef and beans with the tomatoes can cause a jump start for my iron and protein needs.  I really didn't eat this stuff before WLS, but I have some every day.  I add chedder cheese to mine, and I put in the 3 crackers they give me.  It gets boring after awhile, but I treat it as a medicine for my health.  Brian

I'm awful...all I eat is like 2 cheese sticks (sharp cheddar) and like maybe something else...I made some homemade chili the other day and it's pretty good...just no meat in it, I don't like meat now for some reason.  Other than that I try to drink my fluid requirement but even that's hard.  I'm having a rough go of it lol.  Never being hungry also adds to the dilemma.  I do take all my vitamins though, hair hasn't started falling out yet, but I'm only about 6 weeks out.  Mmm...I need to pick up some protein supplement I guess, I just hate that crap!

Not sure about the “#1 Eaten food” vs “The Most Calories…” But I’ll throw out a little of both…. My “Go to Foods” that made and make up most of my dietary intake are- Eggs, Chicken, Beans, Fish, and Beef. (in that order) As for “Most Calories”- I use A LOT of Olive Oil, Canola Oil and Nuts. Those, along with Canola Oil Mayonnaise, Make up My Higher Calorie Intakes. I generally get about 40% of my intake in Protein, 30% in Low-Glycemic Carbs, and 30% in Fat from mostly Mono-unsaturated Fats. By “Bulk” I’d say Apples and Veggies (Squash, Peppers, Onions, Celery, Radishes, etc…) make up the “Most” of my intake by volume. Eggs, Meat, beans, category, make up “Most” of my intake regarding Nutrition, And Healthy Fats make up “Most” of my intake if counted by Calories. Best Wishes- Dx
