Hey guys, I need your help.
Whatever situation caused you to select a doctor six hours away.....means you trust him... So, I would be driving those hours to see him about how you are feeling. You can never be too cautious with your health...

Hello fellow WLS people:
I had gastric bipass 5 1/2 months ago. I have abdominal pains since the operation date and it is getting worse. To see my surgeon is an almost 10 hr. drive (close to 600 miles). My family physician thinks that there is nothing serious with me and feeds me antacids etc. I will be seeing my surgeon in 3 weeks but I am desperate. Any of you with pains this late after surgery? By the way my diet is very bland. Nothing spicy, sour, salty etc.
Thank you in advance
George L
I live in Ontario, Canada and this is new territory for our physicians. There is no one around here that will do it. Most of us go to either Michigan (close to detroit) or Northwestern NY. Good thing that our medical plan pays for out of the country health services.
You see, In parts of Canada, it is easier to get sex change (paid by medicare) than get help if you are dying from obesity. See where our priorities are.
Anyways, I have an appointment with my surgeon (which is one of the best in N. America and I trust him fully) on May 12. (My wife and I are going to be driving all day mother's day)
Thank you for the info,
George.
