Results from 5K
Hi guys, well today I did my second 5K. I ran it 1 minute and 15 seconds faster than my first. Today's was 26:13 at a 8:27 pace. I had really hoped to go under 25 minutes, maybe next time.
There were 85 and I finished 44 th. 5 guys in my age range, i was 3. Right in the middle, but I am OK with that.
Funny thing happened, with about a mile left to go I was coming up to a boy that looked to be maybe 10 yrs old. Every time I would get close to him he would hear me and take off, then I would get close agan and off he would go. This happened all the way to the end. I guess he just couldn't stand the thought of some old man passing him. Wish I had young legs again.

Panhead, that is simply awesome. Just running a 5K is terrific and then finishing 3rd with such a great time is totally great!!!!!!!!! You have come such a long way and you are such an inspiration to all of us. You and all the runners, walkers, lifters, bikers and others keep me going in the right direction.

Yes the middle is very good. 2 years ago I would have said, what I am now doing was impossible.
If my wife wanted me to go to the mall with her I would have begged off because a half an hour walking and my knee would have been so stiff and sore it would have been hard for me to bend it and get in the car.
I remember when she took the grandkids to King's Island, I wouldn't go because I knew I would have been in pain and just sitting on a bench watching, or just slowing them down.
So yeah, the middle is very good.

Great job and a great time. Keep it up!
