Dang Bama, causing problems all over the place.  I thought Vanderbilt was where Tennesse doctors got trained properly.  I guess that notion is out the window now. In all seriousness though, I am deeply sorry you were all dolled up and had no where to go.  Had they shaved your privates and everything already or did you at least get to keep your man hairs.  The man upstaris was looking out for you so nothing would go wrong.   When I worked in the post-anesthesia care unit and we would get patients postop, it was  unbelievable how a couple of lab tests could severly alter the outcome of a procedure.  I have seen where one blood test not done or missed can kill a patient (an example of this is the PT/PTT = bleeding test).  Patient bleeds non-stop beause of medication or herbal crap they were taking and then they die - heart attack and myocardial infarctions.  There are other types of things as well, but I won't bore you with details.  Keep your chin up and spirits high, there are always reasons for everything god does and apparently this was part of his plan for you.  Keep your eye on the prize brother.  I promise not to give away your seat on my losers bench.  I have a spot designated just for you with your name on it.  Be good, Taz

I'm so sorry.  I would be livid, mad, upset, pissed, sad about the whole thing too.   I could not imagine getting that far and having that happen.   On the other hand, the anesthesologist could have saved your life.  My first job out of law school was working for a top flight medicial malpractice firm and we sued many an anesthesologist for malpractice and wrongful death.   I had no idea how much of a problem that was.   When you go back in 2 weeks, at least you can feel comfortable that you have an excellant anestesologist who is looking out for you and your safety.   Again, so sorry and I hope your two weeks pass quickly!  Hang in there!

Wow!! I am sorry to hear that happened to you.  I am glad to hear that you are okay though.  I know it is hard, but I would rather hear from you than a post that something went wrong due to complications putting you under.  Sort of like the plane not taking off because of a mechanical problem, rahter be on the gound and safe.  Good luck, keep us posted.

I can hardly imagine how you must feel. All I can suggest is to remember how far you've already come. So grin and bear it until you can grin and bare it. I'll bet the hospital or surgeon is going to very good to you since somebody messed up big time and it wasn't you.

Bob. sorry to hear about your setback. I've been thinking about you and praying for you for the last couple of days... my initial reaction was "guess my prayers don't work" but now that I've read the comments left here and thought about it a little more, I'm pretty sure they do. Thank God your Dr. did the right thing! Now I'm praying that your rescheduled appointment goes well AND happens on time! :) Take care buddy! Mars

Yeah, that truly sucks. But take a deep breath, let 'em cross the "T" and dot the "i", etc., etc. It's still gonna happen, bud. Hang in there.
