Time for an update.

So a lot has happened since my last update. I thought I was going to change Surgeons but have since reconsidered. The process had seemed to have stalled at Dr Hoehns office but once I started looking elsewhere it picked back up again there. I know I didn't tell them I was going elsewhere but somehow they got the ball rolling again.  Besides the other place I was looking was out of network and I don't like that idea. So where I'm I now?  Well I have found out that Shawnee Mission Medical Center will start accepting Aetna on May 1st as they have signed a contract with them. So my surgery will be covered 100% (Aetna primary BCBS secondary) Also I have had my paperwork submitted to both Insurance companies and Aetna has already replied with... "We request at least one meeting between the Surgeon and the patient prior to approval."  So I have a Pre-Op meeting with Dr Hoehn on 4-16.  Hope everything goes smooth after that. I am still hopeful for Surgery before the end of MAY. I have a mandatory business meeting in Phoenix June 11th thru the 15th I have to attend. On a side note my wife and I are looking to start attending church. I haven't been in almost 18 years and to be honest it really scares me.  I know it's a place of worship and not a place to judge but the reason I quit going to church was because I was judged back then.  But anyways I will over come this fear as I will overcome this prison of FAT I live in each day. Faith and the fellowship that can come from identifying with a church body have been a critical part of my life and even more so since WLS surgery three weeks ago. Think you're on the right track. I hear the judgment thing, though. But I find more people *****ally do care and just don't know how to express it, probably for fear of hurting feelings. All the best,
