Raw Walnuts as a 2 yr Filler Upper

Just wondering if anyone has tried these? Black walnuts seem tastier, but the regular ones are chewier and more filling. They are one of the lower carb nuts and the chewing and fiber prevent me from eating more than a couple of handfulls.

I'm rejoicing because I can now get the American ones in a three lb bag for about $13.00 at Costco here in Japan. For some reason they are allowing US distributors to under cut Japanese ones. I'm not complaining.

Best Wishes,

Dave

Dave, I love walnuts and eat them a couple of times a week for a snack.  Or, sometimes I eat them in cereal.

Dave I eat a small amount every day!  I try to get in small amounts of raw walnuts, almonds, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and banana chips in each day.  I feel if I am be missing some nutrients from malabsorbtion, I may be able to resolve the issue by small amounts of nuts.  Like you and your pureeing the chicken salad...We just don't know how malabsorbtion is effecting us in the long run.  Great food choice.  Brian

Hey Dave,  Walnuts are right at the top of the food chain when it comes to nutrition. I mix them in with almonds and dried fruit when I make my "cycling fuel" trail mix. Boner

speaking of walnut, i'm doing a huge walnut bar for a client. in the "bar" room is a whole theatre all wired in. once we got the speakers wired in the ceiling they had me build a solid walnut coffered ceiling! i can't tell what all this costs though. they wanted the room to look like an english pub. so tons of walnut and marble. one of the bars is movable so they can pu**** to the middle of the room! so it looks pretty cool, right down to the copper foot railing.

so i had all these left over planks. i just made a "remote control" box for the g/f and now have to make a box for her knitting needles with the leftovers. this stuff is $7 a lin. foot. so the whole point of this post, besides showing off, is to let you know it took forever to get decent planks of this stuff west of the mississippi. our room we put bar in is 12'X16'. actually a little bigger. you can't get planks that long. that's how rare this tree is.

so there, a little history of walnuts. so be thankful you can get the nuts cheap because the wood sure ain't! ok, now for me? i can't eat nuts, too dense. i can't even eat chips, too dense too. i eat rice crackers for munchy stuff but they have no protein value. wish i could eat nuts again. i used to stuff myself with them. ok, enough rambling, sounds like i'm on drugs again! what was the question?

Hey Guys,

Sounds like we have a pretty big "walnut contingent" here.

CB,

I love the smell of walnut in the morning! It has such a unique and rich smell when you are sanding it. I once worked for a guy who used lower grade walnut to plank an entire floor. It was some hard sanding, but the smell was great. Pretty hard stuff, though.

Some people have to watch the nuts that, with diverticuli and I supposed anyone who gets "impacted" would have to watch that stuff. No nuts or my favorite honey mustard pretzels, I guess.

Well, it's almost 5:00 fellows, got to get off to work out.

Best Wishes,

Dave
