Everyone is unique in how they handle this situation.  The generally recognized rule of thumb..30 min between dribble or nibble...is designed to fit most situations and it is a very simple rule to follow The flushing and potential nutrient loss will eventually catch up with you...in either not meeting your body's needs...or.....in a subtle increase in hunger and the amount you eat and take in.   Herein lies the biggest threat....you won't notice it coming....and since we (former fatties) are experts in rationalizing (how do you think we all got to be the size we were!) then you are playing close to the edge. If you HAVE to drink fluids and eat....use a very very small cup or other method to limit yourself.  In reality in may be easier to just give in and follow the rule.  as YODA might say "Sometimes you may break it but follow it you must.."

Hey Bigdog & Bamabob---Y'all are both absolutely right about the liquids!   Where do y'all get the quotes at the end of your blogs?
