I got a Dermatolipectomy.  It's like a Tummy Tuck but I didn't need muscle repair.  I am a little disappointed with my love handles.  Tell me what you guys think.  I am still swollen.

I saw the pics, but hard to compare without seeing the before shots.  but indeed you still look swollen however, it looks like a good PS job none the less.  I've also heard from our PS'ers that your body will still adjust even after surgery durings its repair process and it could take months and months before you see the final product.

Give it more time. You are still swollen. But check out the guns. KEn

I'd be interested to know what you weighed pre-op, what you weigh now, how many inches you've lost in your waist, and what the cost for the plastic surgery was. I don't know that this is in my future but it might be. And I'm kinda curious to know the numbers.

Jfish, My beginning weight was 287lbs.  My weight now is 193lbs.  My waist size was 44 inches.  My waist size now is 34 inches.  I can fit a size 32 but its a little tight.  The PS cost $4700 but I didn't need a Tummy Tuck.  My muscles was still strong.  A full TT cost about $6000.   I hope that helps.

I lost a lot of weight  years ago  unfortubately gained it back  thats why I opting for surg. now.  But  after losing a lot of weight I had lower bodylift   and those same bulges  trust me they will go away when the swelling is gone   they will go up and down for several weeks/months  then one day you will get up and they will be completely gone and you will see inches lost. be patient    I work in operating room and for a plastic surgeon. Keep in mind the more active you are while healing the more you will swell and will add to overall recovery time cheers Mike

I'm about a year out from my PS. First time I had heard the term Dermatolipectomy. I thought I had an Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck) without muscle repair which appears to be the same thing as a Dermatolipectomy. Cool, learned something new.

Anywho, you can expect some tightening as the swelling goes down but quite frankly, your ab pics look a lot like what mine look like today. I also have a 34" waist and my body composition is pretty much the same now as it was pre-PS.

As I've always said, PS is an art, not a science. I'm kind of disappointed from my PS results cosmetically but am pleased I no longer get rashes and boils on my panni. I don't mean to dash your hopes since your cosmetic results may turn out much better than mine.

IMHO, it looks good, but what is that remaining large fold of skin below the naval around the torso?   Will you need a second procedure to eliminate that, or can it be taken care of with a lot of abdominal exercises?

I had 2 procedures on both the abs and panni but still ended up with some excess skin (folds) from hip to hip on the front. Since I didn't have a full cut around my entire torso, I have larger "love handles" from hip to hip on the backside. I believe Russ had a full cut around his entie torso and, based upon his pictures, his PS turned out much better. Makes sense when you think about it. By the way, I do a lot of ab work but the excess won't go away but this is just my personal situation so results on others may be different. Boner
