What are the "dope pills" you're taking? Switching to a different drug might help, since some last longer than others.
Other non-drug approaches towards better "sleep hygiene" might help: less coffee, none after 6PM, no late-night computer work, rigorous bedtime every night (if that's possible.)
It should be interesting to see if you'll experience the same pattern of insomnia this week once you're on your cruise. If your insomnia improves, that may suggest some addition "lifestyle" mods you may be able to incorporate into your homelife.
