Plastic surgery?????
Good Evening,
On Saturday, I went to the plastic surgeon to see what he could do for me. He showed me where he could slice and dice and what he could do but is it worth it? I have never meet any guy who has had the stomach job done. Any help, suggestions, concerns, or anyone have it and found it not worth it? Any comments are helpful. On another note, the plastic surgeons assistant asked me if I posted on the Michigan board of OH and I said only the men's forum. Oh, I'm not welcome there was her comment.

I remember Dx making a comment that he felt complete after his stomach work. I believe that he also had hernia repair.
Old timer Larry Perry also had it done and I remember the same thing from him. Assuming insurance approval, I will go in January after I get back from Disney for the stomach and hernia repair.
I think that mentally, it would be awesome to not have my gut hanging there anymore. I also in my mind keep waiting for it to "fill back up". I want that feeling to go away so perhaps that's the way. Good luck
Scott

Thought I would chime in too. I am 8 weeks post op from abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) and even though it hurt like a ***** the temporary pain is well worth the results. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. I feel the same way as DX. I felt like it completed my journey.

I had the abdominoplasty a year and a half ago. It is an extremely painful procedure but it really does help to feel more accomplished about your achievement. I didn't lose any weight through the procedure, but since I was already at goal weight that didn't matter. The recovery is slow, since the surgeon wants you to heal properly. I had to pay for the procedure out of pocket since insurance would not pay, but it is worth every penny (over $6,000). Make sure you pick a good surgeon. Ask around, and look at actual experience.
I actually have flat abs for the first time in my life. BTW, the more muscle you build between now and your PS, the less likely they will have to do an extra cut to tighten your abs. My PS was strictlly skin removal (less painful also) because the abs were fine.
Good luck.

My experience was much like Rob's. I had the abdominoplasty and two rounds of panni removal a year ago. As Rob said, the more muscle you build between now and your PS, the less likely they will have to do an extra cut to tighten your abs. Also, you should be at your goal weight and have been there for a year. For me, finding a good, experienced LOCAL plastic surgeon was nearly impossible since there are so few who work on WLS men. Whole lot different sizing up a new "body suit" than it is doing a boob job. Best of luck. Boner
I went last week to see a PS. I have just seemed to have stalled for over a couple months now....I'll drop a few pounds here and there. I had my RNY last March. He looked at me and a nurse took some pictures. I thought when I went in there he might say maybe he would take off 15 or at most 20 LBS. Well when I was getting ready to leave the nurse told me that he said (the PS) it would be around 40 LBS!!!...I almost dropped a load right on the spot. The procedure he might perform (it will be up to Aetna) is the Panniculectomy. I'm a little nervous myself about doing it being 61 and all, but the pani get's in the way when I workout at the gym and when I walk and go up and down stairs. It doesn't help out alot in the sex area either. To bad I can't channel all that extra meat into my crank. I'd be more famous than "Johnny Wad" or "Harry Reams"...some of you older guy's know who I'm talking about...when I'm just rambling now so I better get off here....must be the nerves....
