Can some of you oldtimers here on the board explain the foamies to the new people??  It is hard to describe and explain why it happens.  Any help...I'm sure the new guys would be greatful for.  Brian

ahhh yes... ok it is when a little bitty piece of anything gets stuck across the opening at the bottom of your pouch.... (and sometimes that baby can get spackeled shut) and the spit starts to back up in your throat...and yo have to yak kinda hard, to dis-lodge the plug..and it comes up foam... I hate them.....eggs of any type can sneak up on you russ

What Russ said......I used to get the foamies all the time once I started eating solid foods post-WLS. My personal "foamie" pattern was 1) eat something 2) get the hick-ups 3) have to start spitting (i.e. the foamie part) and finally 4) puke. Eating too quickly, not chewing well enough, eating dry foods or just eating certain foods which didn't agree with the old pouch seemed to be the root cause. Boner

I'm glad someone finally explained why this happens.  I had a HORRIBLE episode (out of town on a work assignment no less) just this past week.  I thought I was such a bada$$ when I started eating semi/solid food.  I had zero problems up until I started to try to eat meat.  I was wondering why it happened that way!  I'm just having to try to retrain myself to chew very well and eat slowly.
