clothes
Am i the only person who hides the clothes that will not fit me anymore? I have lost down from an 8x shirt and 72 pants to a 3x shirt and a 46 pants in 19 months which i think is great ;but i find myself having a hard time giving up the old clothes.i still find my self holding out at least 1 suit of clothes each time my wife has to weed out the closet. i know its just a head thing wonder if i will ever get over it ,george
Nah, I am kind of fearful of throwing the stuff out too. I guess I spent so much time growing into those clothes, that and the fact that I spent money on them makes it hard to give them up.
I have started donating them to the local support group for others who will be following me down the clothing scale. I find that much better than tossing them out.

The first time you do something - It's going to be a personal record!
I was that way for a while too .But I did reach a point to were I just gave in and gave them to big brother's and big sister's . Maybe some body will get some use out of them ?
You may reach that point too . I think when the brain does come to grips with the fact that we are not going to gain it all back , thats when we can let it go .
BTW it feels great to give them all away knowing you will never need a size 4x again .
Best wishes
Nick
I have no emotional ties to my clothes whatsoever. The only problem I have is finding people to give my clothes to once I can't fit them anymore.
The problem I'm having now is buying new clothes. I want to buy stuff that fits me good and comfortable but I have to remember I'll be dropping a lot more weight in little time. So I'm buying stuff about a size too small and then figuring I can get away with it till it's at least two sizes too big.

I have had no problem whatsoever so far getting rid of clothes. I've only kept one pair of pants and one shirt from when I was pre-op. I wore them on my 3 month anniversary, and intend to wear them on my six month, 9 month and 12 month anniversaries just to help me appreciate what I've done and where I've come from. The rest I gave away to people I contacted on here. I actually spent about $35 mailing them off, but I felt like it was money well spent. This next round of clothing that I'll be giving away, probably in a month or so, will be a little tougher. I bought all this stuff I'm currentlly wearing back before my kids were wanting to drive and going to college and all that expensive **** and therefore I bought good quality stuff. The sizes smaller than that were bought back when we were living on just my check, and in addition to being a bit shoddy are 12-20 years old. I may have to break down and buy some stuff eventually.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
