Job Interview
I had a job interview this morning. Started at 9:30am. The guy bought my lunch around 11:30 and I figured we'd go back to his office and say bye and I'd hit the road. We continued talking until about 3:00p when I told him I had to be back in my hometown by 6:00p and he agreed to shut it down (I was interviewing in another community about 2.5 hours away). Admittedly this guy was a real talker, and he evidently didn't have much on his plate today, but I'm thinking probably that this time last year when I was in the 450 range he probably would've made up his mind as soon as I walked in the door and stretched the interview out to maybe an hour, just to make it look legit. It feels good to be taken seriously again. And the hell of it is, I'm still morbidly obese by BMI standards.
The free man owns himself. He can damage himself with either eating or drinking....... If he does he is certainly a damn fool, and he might possibly be a damned soul; but if he may not, he is not a free man any more than a dog.
JFish,
I could not agree with you more, "It does feel great to be taken seriously again." That is probably the biggest motivator for me professionally is how people's attitude towards me has changed. Hope the job interview was more productive for you than for the interviewer. That is if this is the position that you are looking for.

It is nice to get that little bit of respect and attention. I think it helps us to feel validated. It is just a shame that we all weren't treated that way before, just because of our size.
I say ride that puppy for all it is worth. We all have a lot of catching up to do!!
Hope you get the job and then you can decide if you want it.
