I took two weeks off, could have went back after one with no problems. I had already saved two weeks and where I work if you don't take it they will just pay you for it so I went ahead and took both. To tell the truth I was bored to death the second week. It got better when I got my staples out and the Doc released me to drive and ride again. Which was about midway through the second week.  pan head

Eddie, I had open RNY and was off 7 weeks.  Then went back half days for a week..  Glad I did take that time.   Rich

What about the folks that have physical jobs that involve a bunch of climbing and lifting? How long did it take you to get back to the daily grind?

i'm a contractor and took a couple months off only because i could. i needed everyday of it too. i came back and ended up sick, sore and almost back in the hospital. i couldn't eat and my guts hurt. i had complications though. all i know, desk job or not there's no way i could even sit for more than an hour without pain and that was a month out. i guess we're all different. i don't think i'm the norm by a long shot though. i just healed slow and had problems so don't let me scare you off. i just couldn't sit or do hard work for the longest time. just me......carbonblob

If you have the time, take it!  Regardless of what you do you can put the time to good use ... learning how to cook, measuring your food and water intake, getting on schedule with meals and vitamins, learning your exercise routine and getting needed rest! CB
