Never seen one yet that couldn't smell a loose dime, even from across the border

I do believe attorneys remain one of the few groups open for bashing and still be PC. Nicely done, Baja. (no spritz needed) Heard any good lawyer jokes lately?  Boner

Only the one about the bus load of lawyers at the bottom of the sea... but we've  all heard that one. Funny story - when I lived  in the San Francisco area there was a group of lawyers that tried to pass a law making it a crime to demean them. Go figure

Aren't there good places in Canada to have these surgeries?  Is there a specific doctor or medical center in the US that you want to go to?  Just curious.  If there turns out to be problems, you might want to check out some of the Dr's in Mexico.  I know that there are quite a few on the VSG forum that went to a couple of well known WLS Dr's there.

Surely you jest!  They have socialized medicine in Canada.  You know that thing  two of the three remaning candidates for president want to foist on us -- you get what the govenrment wants to give you and WLS is optional surgery so guess what doesn't get funded.  When you need to wait months for a cornary by-pass how long do you think you will wait for WLS?  Forever comes to mind quickly. Let's see ... socialized medicine which allows AND PAYS for you to have surgery in another country...   OR  ... Work for a multi-billion dollar company in the US which excludes WLS for any reason no matter what co-morbities or life threatening indicators.  Oh yeah, to make it more fun since they are self-funded you have no right of appeal or review outside of the company. Here's to me guessing your you weren't one of the self-funded trying to scrape up $30,000 to $40,000 and PRAYING that nothing goes wrong so you don't lose everything you worked for over the last 25 years.

Not sure if your comments were for me in particular but --  I was self pag for a VSG.  cost a total ok18k including everything from LAPSF.com   Risky I guess but staying the way I ws was even riskier so I spent the money.  After all,. it is less than a new car   Price and this body I hope to be driving around for decades to come. Its been woth every penny for me to have blown through all the insurance company crap.

Unless you thing that you are on some watch list I would keep quiet and just enter the US like any other Canadian.  There is no visa requirement so don't involve the immigration service if you can possibly avoid it.
