SELL ONE OF MY HARLEYS!! SURELY YOU JEST? My dog, yes. My car, probably. My house, sure. One of my Harleys, only after I had sold every thing else. Guns and Harleys would be the last things.  pan head

Just checking to see if yuo lost your prioroties or scrupples,...and if you were really panhead. That was more accurate than a retial eye scan.  Running hasn't melted your mind,...yet. But beware,...those endorphines kick in and next thing you know,...pricer shoes,..sweat wicking attire,.....new sport backpack,.....mp3 player,.......treadmill,.......do we have papers on the dog??? Watch for the pattern.

Damn now you got me worried, I do have the pricer shoes. Matter of fact I have a pair I wear to the fitness center and another pair I keep at work. Got the wicking attire, and the mp3 player.  As far as the dog goes she is my wife's dog. She is a lasa apsa, probably spelled that wrong. I used to hate her but now I feel sorry for her, she is blind and deaf. I swear she is going to live for ever though just to spite me.  pan head

Thanks Kyp, Sat I did the 5k and Sun I went to a local park and ended up running 10k. Yeah, a little to much two days in a row. After doing this I could not help thinking about you doing the marathon. 26 miles is just so hard for me to wrap my head around. How long did it take you to get to that point and how did you progress. Did you run the same distance every day or did you run vary it from day to day?  Is there a "Running for Dumies" book? pan head

I started out training for a half-marathon and decided about halfway through the training that I would do the full.   My training was basically building up a bunch of base miles slowly week by week.   A book I highly recommend is "Marathoning for Mortals" by John Bingham.   He's got some great training plans running and run / walking half and full marathons.

It's more than possible for you to do it man.  The best thing you can do to actually set the goal is to find the marathon you want to run and register for it.   That way you KNOW that you have to train in order to do it.
