First, we had a health fair at work Friday, I am on our Wellness committee and helped organize it.  I invited the Surgical Weight Loss group that is with my doc and they came and brought their scale they use in the office which measures body fat. I came in at 13.5%. I know this is not the most accurate way to measure it but right or not I'll take it. Had several other tests run and all were great. Lung fucntion. blood test, blood oxy level, glacouma testing and derma scan. With the new duties at work I am having to dress a little different. No suits, but no jeans either. I call it office casual.  Being the clothes ***** that I have become, I already had the appropriate attire. The women can't seem stop telling me how good I look. I had one lady ask me if my wife picked out my clothes. I told her,"NO" I buy my own clothes and dress myself. My wife has bought me clothes that I would not wear. Today I ran in my first 5K. I say first beacause I think this is something that I can get into. My time was 27:28, which they said was a 8:51 pace. I really didn't mean to run that fast, but I did it with out any trouble. There was around 175 runners and walkers. Probably 80% runners. Being my first time I didn't know where to start so I did so at the very back. Should have started in the middle. I got behind all the walkers and had to work my way around and through them. I ended up 100 th, so I had got to pass quite a few, which was kind of cool but if I had started in the middle I know my time would have been better. All in all it was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. I found out about several more 5K's going on and looking forward to doing more and improving my time. There is a 4 mile run next weekend I might try to go to. I have the number they gave me and I wrote the date, distance and my times. I think I am going to take it to work and tack it up on my cubicle wall. 15 months ago I weighed 324 when I had surgery and my highest weight was 375. I lost some weight before seeing my doc and weighed 359 at my first consult. I never dreamed that I would ever be where I am now. Not in my wildest dreams. My point? Don't limit your self, as you set and attain your goals set new ones. I don't think I am special, I think what I have done every one else can do as well.  Life is good!! pan head

Awesome Job.  My first 5k is May 3rd.  I'm currently training and am down to a 9 min pace.  I can't wait for it.

Its just me, only a little smaller.

Congratulations PanHead! Life IS good, isn't it? It's inspiring to see former obese people taking on and then accomplishing some amazing physical activities. Keep up the great work and best of luck in your next run! Boner

Great job there dude.  What a FART.  I've been jogging foer a year now and am still not that fast but still striving to get there.  Thanks for reassuring me such accomplishments are attainable. Guess you'll be selling the "hog" soon for running gear???
