Insurance Approval MDIPA Fed

I've been lurking around since the summer, really enjoying all your posts. My insurance company denied my surgery back in January. I filed an appeal and received approval today. Hopefully, I will get a date this week. I am looking forward to being on the losers bench. Sam

I bet you're really feeling good, Sam. Congratulations. I'll be the first to admit that I shed a couple of tears when I finally got approved after initially being denied by Aetna. WLS was my only chance to turn my life around so when I finally got my approval letter, I was on cloud nine! Now it's all up to you my good man. Best of luck! Boner

I am about to start my journey so I haven't been approved or denied.  I wanted to know once they denied you did you have to write in an a appeal or did the doctor do it for you?

MDIPA FED requires 6 months PCP or nutrionist supervised diet. They originall claimed I had not completed.  MY PCP wrote the appeal, they had 30 days to respond. On the 28th day I received my approval. Good Luck on your journey, I am scheduled for 5/5. Sam
