Male farts smell better but we make up for it in volume
A 1998 study found an interesting difference between the offensiveness of the farts of men and women. The study found that women's farts had higher concentrations of hydrogen sulphide which meant women's farts had a significantly worse odor. However, men generated a greater volume of gas per passage. This compensated for the men's lower hydrogen sulphide concentration, so that both men and women delivered roughly the same amount of hydrogen sulphide per passage of gas.
