Need your help with info concerning guys and panni?
LOL, he was a rescue dog and when we got him he was only 1 1/2 pounds and chewed up and no hair. His name was some fluff name Sparky or something like that. They told us he was a Toy Terrier and wouldn't get any bigger than 5 lbs. Our vet said he was a Rat Terrier and would get bigger.
Well, he did get bigger , lost a few toes from being chewed on and is now 15 pounds. He is a rattie and we renamed him Rocky.
Hey, he got the **** beat out of him and was still kicking so Rocky just seemed more appropriate!
I love dogs and I am so sorry to hear Angie was lost that way.
Take care,
Kathy

Off the top of my head, PS seems like a drastic measure for your son for a couple of reasons. My 16 year old daughter lost 70 pounds, works out pretty much daily now and she looks great. Not even close to needing PS or wanting it for that matter. First of all, how old is your son and how long was he obese? As I'm sure you know, oftentimes "young" skin will tighten up again on its own. Secondly, what was his % of weight loss? 100 pounds doesn't seem like a weight loss amount which would necessitate PS. Does he need to lose more weight? How long has his weight been stable? Is he having any medical problems like rashes, sores, etc.?
You know the PS drill since you've had "tons of it" which leads me to believe you're forcing the idea of PS on him which, in my humble opinion, would be a horrible mistake. Since my response sound too much like a Dr. Phil kind of retort, I believe we need to consult with our resident, no BS, expert here in the locker room, the one, the only....... Dr. Baja.

hey kathy,
i might be with boner on this one. i'm a lot older than your son! alot....lol. you can look at my profile and i have a pic or two of my mid section. i have loose skin. i won't get a six pack again but i can live with my results. he just may be in that space. being younger he may have even better results than i did. a couple guys here lift and given time the skin may just snap back. i was 287 pounds. i lost a lot of weight. so maybe being so young give him a little more time. if it bothers him still, then so be it. i'm just saying more time might pull it up but without an actual pic it's hard to really say. anyway, hope it works out for him. later.......carbonblob

Hi Stranger,
I have not heard from you in awhile. It's good to hear from you. My son doesn't want surgery under any means unless the skin just doesn't go back. He is young and if there is any chance it will bounce back I am sure he will hang in there.
You have a wonderful weekend ok?
Take care,
Kathy

Simple numbers.
350 max weight minimal muscle mass
252 current weight with *maybe* 25lbs to lose to hit the 7-8% bodyfat marker.
I am 29, and I have been in the same weight range (but adjusting bodyfat to muscle ratio) for a few months.
Skin below the naval *is* sagging, and I'm not sure it will come back, but these are things I do not know as I have never been in this position. I do train very hard 6 days a week as I am starting to enter the amature levels of powerlifting/strongman, and plan on continuing this. If this doesn't 'heal' then something will have to be done.
Thoughts?
The panni is indeed a strange beast since there is no muscle behind it to speak of to tighten up which is unlike the abs. As a result, if the panni is stretched out beyond a point of no return (to one's level of cosmetic or medical satisfaction), then PS would indeed be an option.
I can assure you, PS is no walk in the park. I had 2 rounds of it (abs and panni) since the surgeon couldn't get all the excess skin (mostly panni) in one shebang. No ab muscle sewn back up necessary since I worked my abs to an extreme for over a year prior to PS. Am I happy with the overall results of PS? Yeah, for the most part. I no longer get rashes and boils which used to drive me crazy in the summer when I max-bike. Cosmetically, not really since I still have some excess skin around my midsection and panni since........."PS is an art and not a science." Oh yeah one more thing.....scars are forever my friend.
Boner
O.K. this is kinda scaring me .. I thought the LBL was a relative snap, but instead just the panni thing .. ya'll are making it sound complicated, difficult, lengthy and PAINFUL .. &:-/)
Yet if I don't have it done, I'll never get laid .. (except maybe in the dark)
I guess to get up the courage, I'll just have to keep singing The Panni Song to myself in the shower in the meantime:
(to the tune of My Bonnie)
My panni hangs over my pubis,
My panni hangs over on me,
My panni hangs over my pubis,
Oh please take off my panni from me!
(chorus)
Take off, take off,
Please take off my panni from me (from me),
Take off, take off,
Please take off tthis panni from me!
