Ok guys, please hold all the rocks and bottles.  I know ya don't like chicks here but I really do need your help, advice, direction.  Please?  I am sooo proud of my son, he has lost over 100 pounds and has been into the body building, weight lifting for almost 2 years.  He is as lean as I think he can get.  I have been touching on the subject that he may have to have surgery to get rid of that extra ab skin.  He didn't want to hear it before but today he was listening. He started to ask all the questions one would, but I am not a guy, I had PS... but tons of it and not just the panni. And I am not a guy! Are there any guys here that had the panni, no muscle repair?  What was the time off from work and exercising?  Pain level?  Cost?  Do you guys have the incision the same as women, along the bikini line?  Or did you have them do the anchor cut to pull in the skin along the sides as well? Any information you can share that I can forward to my son is greatly appreciated. Ok, let the rocks and bottles commence   I can duck with the best of them Thanks, Kathy

Before I had my gastric bypass, I had a massive panniculectomy.  They removed a 95 lbs pannus. Yes, the scar is in the "bikini" area - on me, it's from hip to hip. 6 weeks off  of weight lifting, but walking was okay - it takes 6 weeks for you to heal completely.  Pain is a relative thing.  For me, there wasn't much at all, but I tend to have a high pain tolerance.   I have no idea what an anchor cut is. Cost - it was covered by our insurance. Tell him to PM me if he has any more questions. But for me - before my gastric bypass, it was essential to have done.  They were afraid that the weight pressing down on the base of my spine would cause permanant damage.  They didn't do anything to the muscles at the time. I do have a hernia repiar coming up, along with another skin reduction on my abdomen, but that one is going to involve muscles and fun stuff like that.

Hi Dave, Wow, you have done an awesome job and look GREAT  Thank you for the offer to pm him.  I got him to sign up today so he could talk straight with you guys...  No need me in the middle. I am afraid he will flip with the no workout for 6 weeks.....  But when he gets to the point where it bothers him enough, then he will do it.  I also, had no choice. Again, great job and thank you for answering ! Kathy
