I'm on my liquid diet due to my surgery being Monday.  My wife is complaining of an odor I'm omitting not sure if it's body or breath but this has never been a problem before.   I'm drinking about 70-80 oz of water a day along with a couple of protien drinks and different soups per day.  Has anyone had this problem and is there anyway to get read of it?  I have been brushing my teeth about 4 or 5 times a day but it doesn't seem to help.

Ketosis. You're burning fat. Tell her to get used to it, because it will be happening for a while.

Ketosis Ketosis who's got the ketosis . Yeah it 's not fun . I still keep in my pocket at all times listerine breath strips , all because of KETOSIS  . Find a breath mint or something you like and keep it close at hand .  Atleast for the next year or so . It will go away though ( damn it ) LOL      Nick

Kudos on Nick's advice, I lived on tic-tacs my first year post-op.  Good luck. John

My only addition to the previous comments is that  it SOUNDS like Ketosis.  What kinds of soup are you eating?  There's enough carbs in some soups to knock you out of ketosis very easily.  Like if you ate a tomato soup or some creamed soup. If you eating broths and thin soups, it probably is Ketosis.  Otherwise, not really sure. Good luck on the surgery next week.
Play hard or go home.

I'm so glad I came across this post!  I thought I was the only one in the world with this problem.  Oh well, I guess it's kind of a good problem to have.  Good luck next week!

Actually.... I think my wife would probably prefer "death breath" to the constant discharge of  fragrant perfume that this temple, that I call my body, emits during normal percolation. Personally, I think it smells like roses.... but to each their own
