Bet you thought that I was talking about my upcoming surgery.  What I am talking about is the fact that I have not has a cigarette in a month.  I started back in late January taking Welbutrin.  After about a week I was down to 5 cigarettes aday.  After three weeks I was down to one or two a day.  Then on 2/18 I had my last one about 8pm. I thought that the cravings would be worst then they were.  I continued taking the Welbutrin for about a week then I stopped taking that.  I have only had about 4 or 5 real cravings, which I was able to get through. I did however put back on 4 pounds that I had lost.  When I saw what was happening I buckled down and refocused my efforts.  I started walking everyday.  After a week and a half I am now up to 2.5 miles a night, and I feel good afterwards.  It can only help post op with walking now. Tommorrow is my 6th month call with my Health Coach, which will complete my insurance issues.  Then I look forward to the paper work being submitted and I hope to have a date by the end of April. Just to let you all know, althought I do not post much I do check the LOCKER ROOM everyday and have learned so much from you great bunch of guys. Thanks for everything, JIM

That is freaking awesome! I quit smoking in June 07 with the help of Chantix and know EXACTLY what you're going through.  Push on and focus the energy into exercise. You will feel more and more the difference that nasty habit was making in your life.  Rock on man... I'm so damn proud of you!!
