I agree with what everyone has posted. It is normal and expected for anout 7-10 days. BUT, I would call the Dr and let them know, so they have it on record. If it does not change or improve in a few days, might want to pay the Dr a visit. Better safe than sorry....

Thanks guys.  And I guess the "type" is a 5 haha.  I have only been post-op 6 days and it's been black every time I've went since the 3rd day out of surgery.  So I guess for about 3 days it's been that way, but no bright red, no red at all actually.  Just black.  But thanks for all of your input I really appreciate this board yall are awesome haha.  And I was just labeling it as "gross" for any squeamish ones out there.

Then there's Type 8:  The IED.   It's like Type 7, but with the added feature of explosive gas.  Can be lethal within 20 feet!
