Hey Guys wassup.  I guess the honeymoon is over. I thought i would still be on the honeymoon till July but I guess not.  I am just about 8 months out. Down 110lbs (from 387 to 277).  I am happy about that But the scale hasnt really budges the last 5 weeks.  I work out about 4 days a week (cardio & weights). And me eeating has been , ok, not perfect but I usually am good for the most part.  I am just a little frustrated because the scale has stopped moving.  And it's not because I am sitting on my arse and waiting for the Bypass Fairy to come and make me skinny.  I am actually working out, eating right most of the time.  Anyways just frustrated cause I wanted to be at my goal of 180 by this July and at this rate it doesn't look like it.  Oh well just wanted to vent...thanks for listening.

I'm going through the same thing brother. I am down from 422 to 266 (-156lbs!) and I am at a stop!! I am 8.5 months out. We just need to change something up. More protiens, different type of protiens, more cardio, etc. Hopefully that will kick start it!!

Yeah I was thinking about that. I am not getting as much protein as i could so maybe I will add an extra shake at night this week and see how that goes.  i also am lifting weights, so I was thinking that some of the lack of weight loss could be due to me lifting weights.

sorry to say it's not lean muscle mass. that's going to take a long time and a lot of heavy lifting to create even a couple pounds. i'm not ragging on you i'm saying it' going to take time before gains from lifting are a factor. try upping your protien, water and cardio. even think of starting over. liquids and such. yep honeymoon is over but the weight loss isn't. don't get discoureged. still plenty of time to take weight off. it's the protein. you use to lose and gain weight. sounds weird but true. so up the intake to about 200 grams a day and let us know what happens. if you take that much then you'll get more muscle which burns more fat even at rest. of course lift heavier. don't take that much protein though if you don't lift heavy or at least four days a week. then just take what your doc said to take.

obtaining lean muscle is really really hard to do. i just can't take all that protein myself so i stay small. my body fat is low though so i think that's why i keep losing or can lose 10 pounds if i need to. water is also key in keeping off weight. there's some guru's on here like paul who've really researched this stuff. listen up for them when they post. i really don't know all that much except like i said, muscle mass is hard to come by so look for another avenue for weight loss. hope this helped but probably didnt! carbon

Thanks for the advice I definetly will try to up the protein and the water...both have been lacking for a while. So that may be the solution.

don't get frustrated. that's the number one killer. we all lose differently as has been said over and over. for me it seems when i start to lose, it creates a cycle of losing. so once i start dropping i can keep it going. when i stall, nothing makes it come off. everything i've read say it's our bodies making the adjustment and realizing it's not getting the fat back. so it takes time for our bods to adjust. that's what's going on with you right now big time. i think that's why they say it may take up to two years before you're done losing and then think of ps if you want to get it. later......carbonblob

Shift things around....Go back to pure protein and cardio workouts....I did for the first year and a half and my weight just came right off...ALL OF IT! I buy roasted chicken and just munch on that whenever I'm hungry. I also have foods that stay in my pouch just a bit longer...apples, peaches, etc. Hang in there and drink lots of water.  It could be water retention?
