Brian, Before surgery I drank a lot of coffee.  However, after surgery, I lost my taste for it for about 9 months.  Then I started drinking decaf.  I normally have one cup in the morning. When I travel between different time zones, I will have a regular coffee to stay awake.  It has not given me any problems at all.

I can handle quite a bit.  Have my own espresso machine so it's usually 3 latte's in the morning before work and a couple of cups of drip coffee during the morning.  The espresso machine was pretty new before surgery so it was one of the rules that I refused to follow.....still do with minimal (if any) negative consequences.

I have no issues with coffee at all...I can pound on that and does not affect me at all.

Coffee is about 50% of my daily intake of fluids.  The other 50% is iced tea,  I don't have any reprocussions from either.    (YET)    I just like the taste.  Always black for me.  I even like Iced coffee.  I think i can give Dave a run for his money.  (on coffee, not running.)   kevin
