Good Day today ???
Today i am doing good deeds for my 2 heavyweight neighbors. Yesterday i cleaned out all of my 3 closets and a couple of drawers of clothes that i am swimming in big $$$ items too. So i thought instead of giving them to the salvation army i would help out my 2 friends. Wow did they ever like what they saw i had 2 rear seats and the hatch in the back full of clothes now there is 1/2 of the hatch left not bad huh. Now i will take the rest to the less fortunate and get a right off. Also for the last 2 weeks i have been walking 3.6 miles per day and i jog the end of that but i dont go when it rains because i dont want to get sick. Today i feel good but i am wiped so i will only take the dog for a 1 mile walk. Is it ok to take a break once in a while to let my body catch up or do we have to do this everyday, i feel like a scumbag if i dont go?

Well Donnie it is good to take a break once in a while to let your body
repair it self . On the days when Im feeling run down i too will take a break .But I get right back after it one or two days later .
I have been sick and cant exercise . BUT snow is melting and the roads are getting dryer the temp is going up !!! ( I love spring time )
I took the road bike off the trainer and we are ready to ride .go go go ! !!

I am two weeks out now from surgery and mentally I feel the same way you do about the exercise thing. One week out I was doing 1-2 miles a day. Starting on Tuesday of this week I upped that to 4.4 miles per day. I feel good doing it, but I can definitely feel it in my hips. I have been doing 2.2 miles in the morning and 2.2 miles in the evening. I go at a pretty good clip. I am not allowed to run yet until I hit the 6 week mark so my abdomen can fully heal - even though I had the lap RNY, I still have to let the puncture sites heal. I am actually at the point where I want to start running part of the mileage that I am doing, but I know that could be very detrimental - so I will wait and keep doing the walking. I too would like to take a break from my daily walking, but I keep doing it. I think the good thing will be to do like you said - go all out on one day (4.4 miles) and then maybe do just a mile on the next day. This would allow the body to heal and adjust. I will tell you though, since I upped the walking mileage and doubled it, I am losing anywhere from 2-3 lbs. per day. This one fact makes it tough for me to change my routine. It is hard to change when you see results like that. I know I will have to make changes as I don't know that I could keep this kind of pace up, especially when I start work back next week. I do believe it is okay to take a brea****asionally. I don't think we will be scumbags, unless we allow one day off to turn into 4-5 days off. I think for me, the only time I will ever allow that, is when I am on vacation with my family. These are just my thoughts, Taz
