Any ideas?
Ever since surgery day 6 days ago i have had a temp that stays between 98.5 and 100.7 . It's never reached 101 which is what the hospital and all my papers say it needs to get to before i call. I don't feel bad. I have no pain in abdomen. I'm not nausea and I'm doing good on fluids. My heart rate is normal and Bp is good. I'm able to take tylenol and the temp goes down. Any ideas. Good it be just stress and trauma from surgery. could it be UTI from the catheter. I have been walking 1 mile a day. So my energy has been good. Has anyone else had the temp thing? Later, Ken
Ken, 101 seems to be the “red flag” number. Below that is considered fairly normal. Some can be from general inflammation due to tissues rebuilding across the cuts. Pick up the phone and call the doc’s office to speak to a nurse. They may have additional info, and can at least give you more “ease of mind” about it than just us folks. Hang in there. The first couple of weeks pretty much suk for everyone post-op. Best Wishes- Dx

Thanks guys- I really have been doing good and emotional great. No complaints other than the fever. The guy who went thru the same surgery that day is not doing good. He had to be taken back for leak. Now he's in ICU. I just want to be safe as i can. I just called the nurse cordinator for Bariactric at Duke. Thanks, KEn
