Just got some Bad News
Well I just got back from the Cardiologist and they found a small blockage in my heart. As if that where not bad enough, the tables they use to do the heart cath only hold up to 400 .
So thats off the table but I guess thats not a bad thing as I would have to wait 6 weeks for surgery with that. So my doc said lets just do a beta-blocker for 2weeks and see how I am doing. So now I have to wait two weeks to get green lighted again. To insult to injury there will still be a slight chance I could have a small Heart attack on the OR table.
I guess I can look on the bright I do not have to worry about getting pinched since my surgery will not be on st paddy’s day anymore.

Chin up, man. The pre-op testing probably saved my life and I am sure this is the case with quite a few of us MO guys... I was having Lap Band and had the Endoscope and they found a Carcinoid tumor. They ended up removing my stomach. Good part is I am Cancer free, alive and 100 pounds lighter, so far.
Take it as a positive, get together physically, and you will get through surgery and on to your new life. In my humble opinion, the better you are physically going into surgery, the easier recovery you will have and the better you will feel.
Best of luck and feel good.

J, it sounds like you were told the same thing I was. I have an abnormal EKG, which prompted a ultrasound and stress test. You know the ones where they get you huffing and puffing and push you to the BRINK of a heart attack.
Anyway the result of that was the cardio doc wanted me to have a cath, but the tables at the local hospital couldn't handle over 400 pounds. So he postponed it until I could lose enough on my own. Of course, I handled THAT about as well as I handled all my other pre-surgery attempts to lose weight.
Fast forward a year or so - different cardio doc. Affiliated with St. Vincent's Heart Center in Indianapolis. THEIR tables could handle my weight - about 440 at the time - so I had the cath. They found a couple small blockages, but not severe enough to do angioplasty.
Short version: there ARE cath tables that can accomodate over 400 pounds, but you might have to go to a larger metro heart hospital to find them.
Good luck.
