I'm Home...
Hey Guys,
I got home yesterday about 1PM, just after the Doc released me. It felt so good to finally be at home where I could relax and not worry about the constant barrage of needles! Things went relatively well. The only real negative was a shortage of beds which left me in recover for until 4AM after a surgery that was scheduled at 11AM. Anyway, the staff at the hospital was great and I had loads of phone calls and visits so that made it more bearable.
PS A big thank you to everyone in the locker room who has guided me from the very first visit to today. You've all been great! Oh yeah, the catheter really is no big deal.
Jason
Jason, I am so glad you are home and doing well. Now hang on to your pants because, before you know it, they will be falling off of you. This is quite a journey you have embarked upon and I wish you the very best. Everyone moved down a seat so you could join us on the Loser's Bench. Just remember to walk, walk, walk and sip, sip, sip.
Doing fine Jason. Sip sip sip...You know the story. Don't get dehydrated, esp. as the summer comes along and your dropping weight fast. Always keep a bottle or two of water close by. What happens too is you start feeling better so you get busy with projects and forget to be sipping. We all need to keep an eye on that one.
Looking at your profile, you really should lose the weight fast. You have two things going for you (three including your wife having WLS). You are young and a male. If you follow your doctor's plan (avoid carbs and sugar...AKA the devil), you will lose the weight real fast. I'll make this prediction...By September 1, 2008 you will be below 200# and be in size 36 pants!!
Just wondering with both husband and wife having RNY will it get a little crazy around the house? As one person tries something new and ventures out in new areas...how will the other respond? Later as your testing the pouch with new things, will your wife be saying...I don't know about that one??...Or vise versa? Get ready for some big changes. Get some rest...then some walking in. The gas will pass soon. The pain near your bellybutton is where they put the camera. We know you won't be able to get in all your water and protein...just do your best on that one and you'll be fine. We'll try and be here for support. Brian
congrads on coming home. I to came home Sunday. And the fun began. The only big deal is the top port and burbing. I'm trying to get all the water and protein in. I'm not to worried about it right know. I walked 1/2 mile yesterday and today, so that should help with the gas. Good luck and hopefully when spring comes we both will have to buy a bunch of new clothes. Ken
