3 Month progress pic... yes, being a compliment Ho!.. and a FART!
Thought I'd share my 3 month progress pic. Finally starting to see some difference. Before now, I felt different, but couldn't really see it. Started out morning of surgery at 643 from a high of 656. Weighed in this week at 548. So, I'm down 95 from surgery, 108 from my pre-surgery high.
Funny thing my wife noticed.. in the pre-surgery pic, I was in a lot of pain, so I was standing 'spraddle legged' trying to keep my balance, and my shoulders were hunched I think. Now I can stand up straight with my feet closer together. Granted I had my boots on, but I think I look about 4 inches taller in the second pic.. LOL.
Anyway, I'm down 2 pants sizes, had to cut 3 new notches in my belt... oh, and the weirdest thing.. my boots are getting big... LOL. Same size I've worn for years, but for some reason, my feet are getting skinny fast.
Now for the stinky business.... I went for a walk!!... I managed a 15 minute walk WITHOUT sitting down, or having a grocery cart to lean on. For those who don't remember, I was partially paraylyzed 6 years ago... spent over 2 years bedfast. This is the most I've been able to do since then. For me to walk 15 minutes (bout a quarter mile round trip) is simply amazing to me. I felt like crying, and laughing all at the same time. I tried it a couple months ago, but it was too soon, and I didn't make halfway. Right now it took about a day for my calves to stop hurting, so I can try it again.. but my goal is to do it every day, then increase the distance.
Remember before surgery, when you all kept saying walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip, and I said.. what if I can't? Guess what... after 3 months, and 95 pounds... dang it.. I can!
