Ok here i go i have to say i hear more ppl tell me daily i look soooooo good and they are so proud of me, which makes me feel great.  Then i go to weigh in at dr pohls office and see i did not lose a single pound in the last week. The lady in the office said because i lost 80 lbs before surgery i may be hitting a plateau early, I DONT THINK SO, i eat right walk 3 miles and jog .6 in the end.  Has this happend to anyone in th early stages i lost 30 lbs after surgery and 4 weeks later nothing it seems weird to me.  I am confident once i am allowed to start an aerobics program i have the pounds will keep coming off.  So this is to show that everyone is different and loses in thier own way.

Haven't hit my first stall yet that I know of. Tomorrow is my weigh day and if that scale doesn't say I"m under 350 then I guess I'll consider myself in a stall. We just gotta be patient and keep working and know that our body is eventually gonna bend to our will.

I am at exactly the same point. I lost 110 prior to the surgery, then dropped 48 pounds since the surgery.  I have been stuck at the same weight for almost 2 weeks now.  I am monitoring my food, charting everything I eat, and I am working on the couch to 5k workout.  Plus some weights on off days, and the scale still isn't moving. It's very frustrating.  Hang in there, you will get through it.  You will probably have a day in the near future where you step on the scale, and all that weight that has been hanging on to you and refusing to give up will have gone away. Keep up the great work. Scott

UncleB, Just keep on keepin on. Stick to your diet and and your exercise and don't be too concerned about what the scale says. Your actual weght is only part of the story. Your muscles are toneing and I'm guessing your clothes are getting loose. Your BP is probably down etc. I'm about 13 months out and have been "stalled" for months now. I want to loose another 20 pounds but its not happening. I try very hard not to get descouraged and I concentrate on what I have accomplished, rather than on what I have not.  I cont. to exercise and I'm trying to be very honest with myself in regard to my calorie intake. There are areas where I can train myself to eat better. Guys like us are doing a total life transformation and old habits die hard. Keep the faith brother, it's going to happen. Doug

Yo, Uncle, Your progress both before and after RNY makes me realize how much of a slacker I was during the pre-op diet phase.   I lost about 15 pounds in 6 months before and 25 since RNY You went in one day after me and are way ahead of me in loss, SO QUIT YOUR *****EN!!!!!!! You're doing great, don't let a minor stall deaden your enthusiasm. Good luck. Guy

i guess i was misunderstood on this topic, what i was trying to ask was if anyone else had the same problem early on.  I am still 100% focused on my goals

Maybe I did misunderstand.  But if I now understand, my answer would be yes, plateaus are natural.  This is especially true with the progress you have made in a short time. Keep up the good work. Guy

Uncle, it doesn't work that way.  You have to make a sacrifice to the Weight Gods.  You have to go out and buy new clothes...thinking you will stay the same and the surgery works for everyone else but not for you.  "This stall is the end of the weight loss..."  The more new clothes you buy the faster the weightloss.  Brian

Uncle, we're pulling your leg.  Stalls happen...very normal.  Your body is trying to catch up with the weight loss.  It is holding on tight right now.  It thinks your going into starvation mode and is protecting itself...Yet it can only do it for so long...Then watch out.  Brian   PS if you checked, your probably still losing inches...But guys really don't check those things usually.
