open vs laproscopic

ah,.....a few questions. Same doctor? If yes, why the date problem? How many RNYs has you doc preformed? How many were open? How many were Lap? What is your BMI? Is there a reason that open is preferred? What is their mortality rate? What is their complication rate? If you do not know the answers to these questions, you really should. I think either open or lap can be very successful. I had lap myself. I have heard that open can be preferred for high BMIs, or if the liver is particularly large. In the end, only a decision you can make. JP

well it is the same doctor but she works with a different doctor when doing lap and that was the soonest they could do it together due to schedule conflict  my actual surgen has been doing this surgery since the early 80's and has preformed many open and has been doing the lap since the 90's she is very well respected and known for this she did my soon to be ex-wifes gallbladder abou t2 years ago and is very nice she did the gallbladder lap on a emergency bases  so i feel very comfortable abou ther abilitys and the other doctor i dont know as well he does the lap band mostly but has been talked about highly by people in my area i  personaly know 11 people from my state that have had this surgery both open and lap by this doctor and they highly recomended her i did my reaserch before i went to her  im not sure abou ther staff as in the desk people lol but its a tight ship its all in the other doctors schedule i guess now so that why the wait and ive decided ive waited this long a couple 3 weeks wont hurt my bmi is not to bad i dont exactly know what it is but heres my stats im 6'1 and i currently weigh 320 i started this jurney at 378 and in december was 373 so im doing well as of latley i lost what was required by my insurance co quickly but when i quit smoking i gaind it back but i work out 4 days a week for a hou r a day and eat well now and i want this surgery to help me stay focused and use as a tool to help me in the long run

You're very likely good to go with either, IMHO. The work you have done pre-op really pays off in recovery, too. Best wishes for a complication free procedure, whichever way you decide to go. JP
